Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Particle Analytx LLC ("Particle Analytx", "we", "us", or "our") is a scientific instrumentation and consulting company registered in Texas, United States. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit particleanalytx.com (the "Site") or contact us through it.

For the purposes of the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Particle Analytx LLC is the data controller of the personal information described in this policy. Our contact details are in Section 12.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

When you submit the contact form on the Site (which is provided by HubSpot), we collect the information you enter, which typically includes:

• your name;
• your email address;
• your organisation, if you choose to provide it; and
• the content of your message.

Please do not include sensitive personal information (for example, health information or government identifiers) in your message. We do not need it and would prefer not to receive it.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure automatically records limited technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request, and the date and time of your request. This information is used only for security, abuse prevention, and keeping the Site running, and is retained for a short period by our hosting provider in accordance with their own policies.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors find and use the Site (for example, which pages are viewed, how long visitors stay, and the general region they visit from). Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as your approximate location (derived from a truncated IP address), device and browser type, referring website, and the pages you view. We have not enabled Google Signals or advertising features, and we do not use analytics data to identify you personally or to target advertising.

Google processes this information on our behalf and may also use it for its own purposes as described in Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy. You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your information by declining analytics cookies in our cookie notice, by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings.

Advertising measurement

We advertise this practice through Google Ads, a service provided by Google LLC, and the Site carries the Google Ads tag. Where you have accepted analytics and advertising cookies, the tag records that your visit followed a click on one of our adverts and whether that visit led to an enquiry or a white paper download. This tells us which adverts and search terms are worth paying for. The tag may also allow Google to show our adverts to you again on other sites (remarketing).

The information the tag collects includes a click identifier supplied by Google, your approximate location, device and browser type, the pages you view on the Site, and whether you completed a form. We do not use it to build a profile of you, to make automated decisions about you, or to identify you personally, and we do not upload customer lists to Google. Google's handling of this information is described in Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy and its advertising practices at policies.google.com/technologies/ads. You can decline these cookies in our cookie notice, change your choice at any time using the cookie settings link on the Site, or manage Google's own advertising settings at adssettings.google.com.

Web fonts

The Site's typefaces are served by Google Fonts, a service provided by Google LLC. When a page loads, your browser requests the font files from Google's servers, which means your IP address and basic request information (such as your browser and the page requested) are transmitted to Google for that purpose. Google Fonts does not set cookies and we do not receive this information. It is strictly necessary to display the Site as designed, so it loads whether or not you accept analytics cookies. Google's handling of this information is described in Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

The contact form and anti-spam checks

The contact form is provided by HubSpot and is protected against automated abuse by Google reCAPTCHA. Both set cookies and, in the case of reCAPTCHA, collect device and interaction information in order to tell a person from an automated script. These are strictly necessary to operate the form, so they load whether or not you accept analytics cookies. Google's handling of reCAPTCHA information is described in Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy. If you would rather not use the form, you can email us instead using the details in Section 12.

HubSpot may also use its cookie to associate your submission with the pages you viewed before contacting us. See Section 8 for more on cookies.

3. How we use your information

We use the information you submit through the contact form to:

• respond to your enquiry;
• provide information about our products and services that you have asked for;
• keep a record of our correspondence with you, including in our customer relationship management (CRM) system;
• understand how the Site is used so we can improve its content and performance; and
• comply with our legal obligations.

We will not add you to a marketing list or send you unsolicited marketing simply because you contacted us.

4. Legal basis for processing (EU/UK visitors)

Where GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:

5. How we share your information

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate the Site and respond to you, and only to the extent needed for that purpose:

• Web hosting and content delivery (currently Cloudflare, Inc.), which serves the Site and processes the technical information described in Section 2.
• Contact forms and CRM (HubSpot, Inc.), which provides the contact form on the Site, stores your submission, and notifies us so we can respond. Your details are held in our HubSpot account as a contact record.
• Website analytics (Google LLC, through Google Analytics), which processes the usage information described in Section 2.
• Advertising measurement (Google LLC, through Google Ads), which processes the advertising information described in Section 2 so we can see which adverts lead to enquiries.
• Anti-spam protection (Google LLC, through reCAPTCHA), which checks that form submissions come from a person rather than an automated script.
• Web fonts (Google LLC, through Google Fonts), which serves the typefaces the Site is set in, as described in Section 2.
• Email and productivity tools we use to read and respond to your message.

These providers are contractually required to protect your information and may only use it to provide services to us. We may also disclose personal information if required to do so by law, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.

6. International transfers

We are based in the United States, and the service providers listed above may process information in the United States and other countries. If you contact us from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Australia, or elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and equivalent UK mechanisms offered by our providers.

7. How long we keep your information

We keep contact form submissions and related correspondence for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards so we can refer back to it if you contact us again. Where an enquiry leads to a business relationship, we keep records for as long as needed to manage that relationship and to meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations. We delete or anonymise information when it is no longer needed.

Google Analytics data is retained on our behalf for the period configured in our Google Analytics account (currently 14 months for user-level and event-level data), after which it is automatically deleted. Aggregated reports that do not identify individuals may be kept longer.

Google Ads click and conversion data is retained on our behalf for the period Google applies to advertising cookies (generally up to 90 days for the click identifier, and up to 540 days for conversion measurement where permitted), after which it expires.

8. Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. The Site uses the following categories of cookies:

We use advertising cookies only for the Google Ads measurement and remarketing described in Section 2. If you are visiting from the EU, UK, or another region where consent is required, analytics and advertising cookies are not set until you accept them in our cookie notice, and you can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings link on the Site. The Google tag itself is present on every page but operates in a consent-denied state until you accept: in that state it stores nothing on your device and sends no identifiers, though a cookieless signal recording that a page was viewed may still reach Google. Strictly necessary cookies, including those that run the contact form and its anti-spam check, are set without consent because the Site and the form cannot work without them. You can also delete or block cookies through your browser settings, although some parts of the Site may not work as intended if you do.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections to the Site and access controls on our email and systems. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights in relation to your personal information, including the right to:

• access the personal information we hold about you;
• ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
• ask us to delete your personal information;
• object to, or ask us to restrict, certain processing;
• receive a copy of your information in a portable format; and
• withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 12. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Visitors in the European Economic Area and United Kingdom

You have the rights set out above under the GDPR and UK GDPR. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority; in the UK, this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Visitors in Australia

We handle personal information in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). You may request access to or correction of your personal information, and you may complain to us about how we have handled it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC). As noted in Section 6, personal information you provide will be held in the United States.

Visitors in California and other US states

We do not sell personal information. Where you have accepted advertising cookies, the Google Ads tag described in Section 2 may constitute sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising under some US state privacy laws, because it allows Google to show our adverts to you on other sites. You can opt out at any time by declining or withdrawing consent through the cookie settings link on the Site, which we treat as an opt-out request. We do not use personal information for profiling or automated decision-making. Residents of California and other US states with comprehensive privacy laws may have rights to know, access, correct, and delete personal information, and to opt out of sharing for targeted advertising, which you can exercise by contacting us. Because of the limited nature of our data collection, we may not meet the thresholds that make these laws apply to us, but we will honour reasonable requests regardless.

11. Children

The Site is intended for a professional audience and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised version on this page and update the effective date at the top. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the revised policy.
